Contempt of court was enacted for the first time in the year 1962 Later on, contempt of court wenacted in 1971 which was further amemded in 1976 According to this act, a person is said to be des of contempl of courts under the following circumstances

 1 Charging the judge with inability

 2 Expressing doubts on the prestige, status, rights or faimess of judiciary

 3. Publication of any comment on the matters which are under the proceedings of the count and may mniead the general public and which lead them to be prejudiced 

4. To cast aspendons or to attempt to influence the judge. Jury advocates or witness of any which are under the proceedings of the court i

5. To interfere in the judicial administration

6 To threaten the witnesses

7. To attempt to obstruct the police inquiry

8. Against the onder of the judge picture of the accused at

publication of the proceedings of the court or the publication 

9. Publication of the report of the proceedings of the court and distorting the facts

10. Wrongful publication of the proceedings of the courts and distorting the facts For contempt of court the punishment is simple imprisonment for a term which may cand b months or fine which may extend to heo thousand rupees or with boths
