Today there is a need for cooperation, not competition in education: Prof. KG Suresh

FDP focused on the theme 'National Education Policy-2020: Implementation for Quality Education' in MCU, 200 teachers from 23 states across the country participated

Bhopal. The five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) by the Department of Media Management of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication concluded on Friday. In collaboration with National Council for Technical Education, the concluding session of the FDP focused on the theme 'National Education Policy-2020: Implementation for Quality Education', was addressed and chaired by the Rastriya Sangathan Mantri of Bhartiya Shiksha Mandal, Shri Mukul Kanitkar and AICTE Advisor, Ms. Mamta Agrawal. Vice Chancellor Prof. KG Suresh. 200 teachers from 23 states participated in the FDP. A panel of experienced educationists from across the country guided the teachers on the effective implementation of the National Education Policy-2020.
The keynote speaker of the concluding session of FDP, Shri Mukul Kanitkar said that the responsibility of implementation of the National Education Policy rests with the teachers and not on the government. Shri Kanitkar said that from July 29, 2020, the National Education Policy has been implemented as soon as the Gazette of the Government of India is published. Now it is the responsibility of the academic institutions to follow and implement it. All of you should get involved in its implementation without waiting for a formal initiative from the government or higher education agencies.

Shri Kanitkar said that the cornerstone of quality education is education that is liberating, rational and meaningful. That is, the one who liberates from ignorance, enriches it with knowledge and the country is productively productive for the society. He said that the goal of establishing India as a Vishwa Guru in the National Education Policy would be fulfilled when the embassies of India in many countries of the world started queues for admission in our higher education institutions.
Presiding over the concluding session, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. KG Suresh said that Makhanlal Chaturvedi University was the first in Madhya Pradesh to initiate the implementation of the National Education Policy and from this session seven new courses were started as per the National Education Policy.

 Pro. Suresh said that today is not the time for competition but for cooperation. Therefore, all higher education institutions should ensure quality education by coordinating among themselves. For this, cooperation and coordination is being established with many universities. Pro. Suresh said that the University has obtained many patents in the academic field and will make remarkable achievements in this field in future also. The University has been ranked 34th in India Today's ranking of higher education institutions, which is our remarkable achievement.
Mamta Agarwal, Advisor, All India Council of Technical Education, invited as a special guest in the concluding session, gave many important and practical suggestions for the implementation of the education policy. Ms. Agarwal said that it is a matter of happiness that many institutions are doing remarkable work in the implementation of National Education Policy in the country. 

At the beginning of the concluding session, the Chairman of the Department of Media Management and Registrar of the University, Prof. Avinash Vajpai presented 5 days report of FDP. The concluding session of the FDP program was conducted by Assistant Professor Ms. Manisha Verma and Prof. Kanchan Bhatia proposed the vote of thanks.
